The “Even Though” Phrase Is Not a Magic Spell

The “even though” phrase in EFT is useful, but people sometimes treat it like they have to get the wording exactly right. As if the tapping police are going to kick the door in because you missed a syllable. The phrase is not a magic spell. It is a way to acknowledge what is there while opening the possibility that something can shift. A simple structure is: “Even though [this feeling or issue], I can [useful direction].” For example: “Even though I feel this pressure, I can let it start to settle now.” “Even though part of me wants to avoid this, I can take one small step.” “Even though this craving is here, I can let it shift more than I expected.” “Even though this old reaction showed up, I can notice what it has gone down to now.” Then tap through the sequence: Crown Forehead Eyebrow Outside eye Under eye Collar bone Wrist squeeze Release. Sigh. Peace. Then notice what the number has gone down to now. If it is not zero yet, change the phrase and go again. The wording matters, but not because it has to be perfect. It matters because better wording gives your mind a better target.
